How Michael & I met
Well if you don't already know we had to go all the way to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to find each other. It was May of 2007 and Mike was down there with a bunch of his friends for bike week. At the time I was working at Hooters and ended up going down with a bunch of girls from work. I was supposed to go with my best friend Jamie, but she changed her mind about going the day before we were supposed to leave (Jamo I think I owe you a Thanks, because had you not bailed on me, I may have never met Mike ;) ) , so I jumped in the car with my Hootie girls and we were off! All the girls already knew Mike and some of his friends because they would sometimes ride their bikes to Hooters on Sundays (Lord knows I didn't work weekends) and Sarah the girl who introduced us knew Mikes best friend because he worked for her dad. After numerous text messages and finally finding the Red Rooster we all met up! After riding the bull, shaking my thang on stage with the band to Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, and getting some liquid courage in me it was time to flirt! I remember talking his ear off and telling him he didn't talk much...go figure he still doesn't! After the night was over we all got rides back to our place on their bikes (mom don't kill me) Never in my life would I do things like this usually...but those couple days were the most fun memorable days ever for me, so I hopped on a Harley for the first time, without a care in the world, and did I mention you didn't have to wear helmets down there then! Mike isn't the type to persue you, so I had my work cut out for me when he didn't even ask for my number! So I put on my big girl panties texted his friend and said here's my number if he wants it. What do I have to lose? Minutes later my phone was going off and it was him! I remember just waiting to hear from him, and the things that boy fed me, I thought for sure he was pulling my leg, no way a nice genuine guy like him existed. But he did and now he's all mine <3 After talking when we were in bike week we discovered that Mike only lived 10 minutes from me back in Maryland! He grew up in Calvert County, but had just moved in with his Aunt over in Charles County. Now that has to mean it was meant to be! The following weekend after bike week, he took me out on our first date to The Chart House in Annapolis. After that it was tons of movies, going over to his Aunt Sissy's, and then meeting his mom!!! I remember she made this huge meal of all different types of salads bean salad, broccoli salad, and so on...and these huge pieces of chicken. I remember freaking out thinking omg, I cannot eat this 1 huge piece of chicken are they going to get mad if I don't finish it? I don't want to be wastefull! But, it went well and they weren't upset I didn't finish my huge chicken haha! From that point on it was history. After a little while we moved in together, got are yellow lab Harley, built a house, and now are on this journey of planning a wedding and starting the rest of our lives together!
